M&A - Strategic  

7/1/2014 Control4 Corporation (NasdaqGS:CTRL) acquired the home automation products line and intellectual property assets of Card Access, Inc. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Control4 provides home automation and control solutions and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Card Access, based in Draper, UT, is a professional consulting and design firm specializing in developing complex wireless and radio-frequency systems technologies. 

7/2/2014 Miller Heiman, Inc. agreed to acquire VitalSmarts, LC. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. VitalSmarts provides corporate training and organizational performance services and is based in Provo, Utah. Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP is serving as legal advisor to Miller Heiman. 

7/9/2014  Particles Plus, Inc. acquired Airy Technology, Inc. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Airy Technology, based in Orem, Utah, supplies testing and measuring instruments and solutions. 

7/14/2014 Headwaters Incorporated (NYSE:HW) acquired LA Ash Products and Services, LLC. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Headwaters develops light and heavy material building products and services and is based in South Jordan, Utah. 

7/16/2014 Jviation, Inc. acquired Creamer & Noble, Inc. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Creamer & Noble provides civil engineering services for various public and private clients in the Western United States and is based in St. George, Utah. 

7/25/2014 Simply Mac, Inc. acquired MacAuthority. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Simply Mac, based in Salt Lake City, Utah, sells Apple products including computers, iPhones, accessories, and other merchandise.

7/28/2014 Bruker Corporation (NasdaqGS:BRKR) acquired Vutara, Inc. fromSignal Peak Ventures. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Vutara produces super-resolution microscopes with 3D capabilities for biological research and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Signal Peak, based in Salt Lake, Utah, is a private equity and venture capital firm specializing in seed and early-stage investments.   

M&A - Financial  

7/24/2014 Graham Partners acquired HemaSource Holdings, LLC fromPeterson Partners LP. The terms of the transaction were not disclosed. HemaSource, based in West Jordan, Utah, distributes disposable medical products and select items used in blood therapy procedures. Peterson Partners is a private equity firm based in Salt Lake City, Utah.  

Private Placements 

7/1/2014 EcoScraps, LLC announced that it will receive $6.9 million in a round of funding. EcoScraps manufactures organic lawn and garden products from food waste and is based in Sandy, Utah.

7/11/2014 iTOK, Inc. announced that it has received $17.8 million in funding from ABS Capital Partners and Signal Peak Ventures. iTOK is based in Lehi, Utah and provides technology support and computer maintenance services to consumers and small businesses worldwide. Signal Peak, based in Salt Lake, Utah, is a private equity and venture capital firm specializing in seed and early-stage investments.
