Beverage House produces beverage, coffee, and tea concentrates for food service and bottle packaged ready to drink manufacturers/distributors and is based in Cartersville, Georgia. Martin Bauer produces and distributes herbal tea and is based in Secaucus, New Jersey.


1/17/2012 Flavorchem Corp. acquired Marnap Industries, Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Marnap Industries manufactures kosher certified food spices and flavors, oleoresins, essential oils, and animal and pet food flavors and is based in Buffalo, New York. Flavorchem designs, manufactures, and sells flavors and colors for food and beverage applications and is based in Downers Grove, Illinois.


1/25/2012 Associated Brands, LP acquired Soluble Products Co., L.P. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Soluble Products develops and produces powdered beverage mixes for companies in the nutrition industry and is based in Lakewood, New Jersey. Associated Brands develops, manufactures, and supplies dry packaged foods for food retailers and manufacturers in North America and is headquartered in Mississauga, Canada.


2/6/2012 Jeunesse Global, LLC acquired GreatLife International, LLC. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. GreatLife International manufactures and markets Vidacell, a product that helps to fight the cellular aging process and is based in Kennesaw, Georgia. Jeunesse Global offers youth-enhancing solutions based on science, such as adult stem cell technology, DNA repair, and nutrigenomics through network marketing and is based in Altamonte Springs, Florida.


2/26/2012 Pfizer Inc. (NYSE:PFE) acquired Alacer Corp. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed, although industry insiders have suggested a $360.0 million purchase price at a 20x EBITDA multiple. Alacer engages in the development, manufacture, and marketing of dietary supplements and nutritionally enhanced products and is headquartered in Foothill Ranch, California. Pfizer, a biopharmaceutical company, engages in the discovery, development, manufacture, and sale of medicines for people and animals worldwide and is headquartered in New York, New York. DLA Piper US served as legal advisor to Pfizer, and Rutan & Tucker served as legal advisor to the owners of Alacer.


2/29/2012 Small Planet Foods, Inc. acquired FoodShouldTasteGood, Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. FoodShouldTasteGood produces chips and is based in Needham Heights, Massachusetts. Small Planet Foods operates as a subsidiary of General Mills and engages in growing, marketing, and distribution of organic fruits and tomatoes and is based in Sedro-Woolley, Washington.

3/7/2012 Hi-Tech Pharmacal Co. Inc. (NasdaqGS:HITK) acquired the Homeopathic Nasal Spray Products division from SiCap Industries, LLC for $1.3 million in cash. Homeopathic Nasal Spray Products comprises homeopathic nasal spray product line including the brands Sinus Buster and Allergy Buster. Hi-Tech Pharmacal, a specialty pharmaceutical company, engages in developing, manufacturing, and marketing generic and prescription, over-the-counter (OTC), and nutritional products in liquid and semi-solid dosage forms in the United States and is based in Amityville, New York.


3/14/2012 Xion Medical Devices, Inc. acquired Firma Medical, LLC. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Firma Medical manufactures and sells sexual health products and disposables and is based in Mansfield, Texas. Xion Medical Devices develops and distributes medical devices for diagnosis and treatment of sexual health and wellness for men and women and is based in Roslyn Heights, New York.


3/30/2012 Schiff Nutrition Group, Inc. acquired Airborne Health, Inc. from GF Capital for $150.0 million in cash. Airborne Health develops and sells dietary supplements to support immune system and is based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Schiff Nutrition develops manufactures, markets, and sells branded and private label vitamins and nutritional supplements in the United States and internationally and is based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Latham & Watkins served as legal advisor to Schiff Nutrition. Cahill Gordon & Reindel and Lindquist & Vennum served as legal advisors to GF Capital.

1/5/2012 Fresh Hemp Foods Ltd. announced that it has received funding from new investor White Road Investments and existing investor Avrio Ventures Management Corporation.
